Vladimir Putin will do everything he can behind-the-scenes to help Trump win. Maybe he’ll force harsh peace terms on Ukraine. Maybe he’ll fund 1 billion bots to disrupt social media activity. Maybe he’ll cut off oil supplies. He’ll do whatever it takes for his servant to win.

Assuming Trump won the Presidency (low likelihood) then he would be able to put aside his legal jeopardy, both Federal and State, until at least the end of Presidency, by getting all cases stayed. By the time they were started again, and all appeals completed Trump would likely be dead, so all charges would then go away.

So if Trump won, (again doubtful) the biggest risk he faces, is to his financial empire. Lettisha has a very real chance of bankrupting him and taking every penny he has.

Putin could save Trump from that by giving banks guarantees for a fraction of the money he would pilfer out Ukraine, once Trump gave him that. OR the Saudi's for other concessions.

So Putin sees a desperate Trump, as his best way to take Ukraine and end Nato and he is right.

Rather than flattery, trump is Putin's "usefull idiot". Putin can continue to do his evil and trump will be an apologist for it.
