The Republican Party has never changed back to normal since Newt Gingrich taught them all how to be liars, cheats, thiieves, and troublemakers.

BUt yes, Reagan started the hatred between the parties during the Reagan/Carter ugly campaign.

Here you had Reagan actually dealing with the Iranians behind the Carter Administration's back to release the hostages.

That should have been against the law.

Yeah, but the hostages were released because of Reagan, not Carter.

Carter should have used just a little more force and it could have happened.

The problem with all that is the U.S. trying to institute "regime change" in Iran in 1953.
Way before Carter..he was just dealing with the fallout from it. Yes, he could have done better.

That "regime change" bullshit never works and should be tried again never.

Never should have messed around in Iran.
