Rep. Ken Buck says he will not serve out rest of term, narrowing GOP majority

Nah, the vacating committee will put in a republican if he leaves before the office has been filled. Or we'll have a special election (Polis says he'll call one on June 25th) and a republican will win. The CD4 is like 85% registered republicans. They don't like Boebert much, but a republican is sure to win.

The law is as follows:

https://ebenchbook.org/colorado/statutes/1-3-104-political-party-vacancy-committees/

All vacancies in state, congressional, judicial, senatorial, representative, or county commissioner party central committees shall be filled by the respective party county central committees pursuant to section 1-3-103.

Since the Congress is a Federal office we'll have an election.

From what CD4 candidates say, the republican state central committee will replace him after a vacancy committee meeting.

Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) said Tuesday that he will not serve out the rest of his term and will instead vacate his seat in Congress at the end of next week, further narrowing an already razor-thin House Republican majority.

Rep. Ken Buck said this about his Republiclown colleagues:

"I voted against the impeachment of Mayorkas and made it plain and simple that I don't think that the impeachment of Biden is appropriate," he said. "And so [House Speaker] Mike Johnson's ability to talk me into staying here, is going to be about as successful as his ability to talking me into unconstitutional impeachments."

“But really we’re at a time in American politics, that I am not going to lie on behalf of my presidential candidate, on behalf of my party. And I’m very sad that others in my party have taken the position that, as long as we get the White House, it doesn’t really matter what we say,

“We’ve gone from a time when the Tea Party stood for conservative principles, for constitutional principles, to a time where the [populists] have taken over the Republican Party and are really advocating things that I believe are very dangerous,

I guess GOP Congressman Buck doesn't care for Trump's MAGA movement (where lying is a strategy, not a sin).
