the emails were from last august of 05, hassert and ONLY the republicasns on the ethics committee were told about it.... the dem on the ethics committee was NEVER EVEN INFORMED about the incident with foley...it was kept from them...i just heard on cnn....and the repubs chose to hush it up and ignore the signs of a child sexual predator in order to keep foley's florida seat.

It depends on how much he really knew, but he should lose his leadership position for not following thru on this for the sake of keeping a House of Representative seat in his party ranks.

Who most certainly should be replaced, are the two republicans on the Ethics committee that were suppose to investigate these emails and they should be replaced because they CHOSE not to tell the Democrat on the committee with the information on the predatory emails from the congressman....

I watched a story on CNN this morning that showed that they went to the House Clerk and investigated where, the evidence they had at that time, informed them that they were personal but not at the level of the current just released e-mails and instant messages....
