Republican Trump should go to JAIL if convicted.

Name those reasons, my dear.

He knows national secrets that could be compromised by other prisoners or guards.

He couldn't be forced to follow prison rules if the secret service doesn't allow it so things like being handcuffed or being served food prepared by prisoners would not be allowed.

He would not be allowed to use the medical services in prison as they are notoriously bad.

The secret service is required to carry firearms to protect the president and guns are not allowed in the prison buildings or yards due to people being overpowered and having those guns taken away and used against prison officials.

The secret service would overrule all prison authority making it a nightmare for them. Anything that they would consider a threat to the president would not be allowed making it a nightmare for any prison.

He can't be placed in solitary because it's been proven that solitary confinement has been harmful to a person's mental state so it wouldn't be allowed.

I am so glad you are an expert on this matter as you are on everything else. The only problem,. handjob, is that you are so terribly wrong so often.

Your top reason is one that proves he should be in prison until he dies

He will NEVER be in general population idiot

Former Republican attorney general, Alberto Gonzales says if Trump is convicted he should go to prison.

Doubt it would happen, first off, Trump’s army of lawyers would delay, postpone, and appeal any conviction out beyond his life span, and secondly, why, he would be a non factor anywhere and would only split the country. Better off placing him under house arrest with limits on his social contacts

You might be right

As I noted, wouldn’t happen, but could, he’d be paced in a minimum security facility which could isolate him and answer all the special considerations you’ve mentioned

Should be in prison? - Yes

Could it happen? - Yes

Is it likely, even with a guilt verdict? - No. I massively doubt it.

Tink is repeating many of the reasons i was offering on this forum first, as to why it is doubtful.

I think the issues around the Secret Service alone, and the powers they are granted to 'protect their charges' would make it massively problematic to send him to any prison, even a club fed. Secret Service have quite a bit of authority to demand changes so things meet up to their security and threat assessments and they always try to err on the side of over doing security, which is generally, very understandable.

Can SS protect Trump in a prison in the event of a riot, if they have no guns? IS the SS having guns in prison a threat to Trump due to the threat of them being taken from them?

How do those types of threat assessments get solved?

I think House Arrest, of some sorts is the most obvious, and hope they do not make a mockery of it by allowing him all of Mara Logo as his 'house' so Trump can finish his days golfing and mocking everyone saying 'this was the best force retirement he could have hoped for'.

Isolation isn't an option in prison for a former president.

As I said, it's proven to be mentally harmful which the secret service won't allow and those facilities are already over filled so they can't give him a separate unit somewhere.

The only real option here is to make some sort of facility off site for him that the secret service can secure. More than likely it would be something like a room in Trump Tower that is stripped down to resemble a jail cell or something.
