1. Makes massive profits for their friends in the military-industrial complex
2. Most of the bases and companies are in Southern Republican states
3. Its a popular issue to be pro-war and this is a strength of the Republican Party
4. It prevents other important issues from being covered...Crowding out
5. They like to play with their bombs and toys...Cowboy mentality
6. Its a job creation scheme for the poor, so Republicans can applaud themselves for helping the poor find jobs
