Republicans reject Trump allies' pick, elect John Thune as next Senate majority leader

We fight, We win
Senate Republicans have elected Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., as the next Senate majority leader after rejecting public overtures from allies of President-elect Donald Trump who backed a different candidate.

After Jan. 6, 2021, when a mob of Trump’s supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol building, Thune was among the many senators of both parties who condemned the rioters and opposed Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. Trump then called for someone to challenge Thune in his 2022 primary, but no one emerged, and Thune prevailed.

Sadly there are many limp wristed republicans.

Thune will be excellent.

Too bad. Rick Scott was by far the better choice. I hope that Thune gets on board with the Trump agenda.

IMO, this is very bad news.

It would have been better if the Democrats had maintained control of the Senate, than to put it again under the control of the Uniparty Shill.

For achieving Government Rule-of-Law and Equal Treatment Reform and reducing Government spending, this is a disaster.

This means that the Establishment GOP plans to just lame-duck Trump for four years, then turn everything back to control by the Democrats and Globalist Left.

Thune Hates Trump almost as much as McConnell does.

Clearly it isn't just the Democrats who have learned nothing from the 2020 stolen election and the Disaster of Biden, it is the GOP as well.

What a moronic statement and argument. Nothing remotely connected to reality or the facts.

This, as is usual with uninformed hacks, will not age well.

Doesn’t make any difference, the entire GOP is unprincipled, they may talk a good game, “don’t like his actions but support his policies” bullshit, but when it comes down to it, they kiss the Messiah’s ass no matter what he asks. Lindsey flopped from ridiculing Gaetz’s appointment to supporting it within a few hours (https://thehill.com/homenews/campai...gaetz-donald-trump-justice-department-choice/).

They are all the same, enablers

The establishment GOP thinks it can just muscle in an take-over after the Trump Coalition has won, and push their Uniparty agenda.

This won't happen.
