Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS, the same firm that prepared a dossier on Trump, met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya before and after her meeting with President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort, three sources familiar with the matter said.
Simpson is one of Fusion GPS’ founders. The dossier had been prepared by Fusion, which had been hired by Perkins Coie, a law firm that represented the Democratic National Committee and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's campaign.
Perkins Coie has acknowledged that it paid $1.02 million to Fusion for research related to Donald Trump.
A source familiar with 10 hours of testimony Simpson gave the Senate Judiciary committee said Mr. Simpson told investigators he did not know of Veselnitskaya’s meeting until reports of it appeared in the media.
