You're playing in a league or class that limits the number of homeruns you're allowed per team or inning.
That was quick.
I guess that could happen, but all the leagues I have played in let you finish the last inning started prior to the time limit.

The only other way, would have been if a runner crossed home, before a trailing runner.
You must have a rule on the number of people who come up to bat, the other team was ahead by five or more when the last possible batter came up to bat. Or it could be a rule on the number of home runs that are allowed I've seen limitations on both of those.
