Romney preferred over Obama to handle the economy

WASHINGTON – Despite concerted Democratic attacks on his business record, Republican challenger Mitt Romney scores a significant advantage over President Obama when it comes to managing the economy, reducing the federal budget deficit and creating jobs, a national USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds.

By more than 2-1, 63%-29%, those surveyed say Romney's background in business, including his tenure at the private equity firm Bain Capital, would cause him to make good decisions, not bad ones, in dealing with the nation's economic problems over the next four years.

Looks like those anti-Bain ads aren't working out so well.

Poor dumb people, these are the same people, who when polled, felt Bush had no control over the economy, but now that it is a Democrats turn, Obama, they feel the economy is his problem! Isn't it ironic!

Well, as much as I like the results of the poll, I have to agree with you. In politics, truth is irrelevant...all that matters is whether politicians can make people believe what they say is true.

brent, and that is AFTER obama outspent romney in the last month on ads with a blitz of negative campaign commercials. and barely moved himself in the polls. Also, romney earned more in donations 2nd month in a row.

Romney is on his way to London to meet with the schoolboys who think they are running the UK. Indeed, at this very moment, Mr Romney is being disassembled and crated to be transported to Gatwick where he will be reassembled, fitted with new batteries and taken to the back door of No 10. Because the UK can't really afford the advanced Walter Mitt Romney brand of batteries, Japanese ones will be used instead and they will only be capable of operating his smile. A spokesman said it would be quite sufficient.

Obama is in Oakland right now. Drove by my sister's house as a matter of fact. Lots of people posting on Facebook pictures of the motorcade or comments about being stuck in Presidential traffic.

Romney is blowing smoke up your ass, if you think he can turn around the economy! Romney will continue the failed policies of George W Bush and look where that got us?
Lets say by an act of Satan, Romney is elected president, he will still need a rubber stamp senate and house to get anything accomplished?!! The only jobs Romney will create will be overseas or Mcjobs here!

well i think the logic is to define your candidate out the gate and set the narrative. a good strategy usually but it hasn't been working for obama
