John Sununu, a co-chairman of the Romney campaign said Powell’s endorsement of Obama couldn’t possibly be the product of purposeful deliberation over the candidates’ policies.

In Sununu’s world of racial reductionism, Powell’s endorsement had a more base explanation: it was a black thing.

“When you take a look at Colin Powell, you have to wonder whether that’s an endorsement based on issues or whether he’s got a slightly different reason for preferring President Obama.”

Sununu is the same man who said that the president performed poorly in the first debate because “he’s lazy and disengaged.”

He is also the same man who said of the president, “I wish this president would learn how to be an American.”

Could Sununu be unaware that many would register such comments as coded racism? Or was that the intent?

Is there something wrong with it being a black thing? Samuel L Jackson says he is voting for your boy because he is black. Is that racist?

Anytime a conservative speaks a truth critical of the Republican Party, no matter how obvious that truth is to non-conservatives, it’s news. Why? Because it’s so damn rare.

Colin Powell’s former chief of staff, retired Army Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, reacts to Romney hitman and all around prick, John Sununu, who suggested that Colin Powell’s endorsement of Barack Obama was motivated by race.

My party, unfortunately, is the bastion of those people — not all of them, but most of them — who are still basing their positions on race. Let me just be candid: My party is full of racists, and the real reason a considerable portion of my party wants President Obama out of the White House has nothing to do with the content of his character, nothing to do with his competence as commander-in-chief and president, and everything to do with the color of his skin, and that’s despicable.

Don’t expect Wilkerson to be invited to any RNC parties any time soon, or ever. Truth is not something Republicans handle all that well.

there are black people who are in fact voting for obama solely because he is black. some of them are conservative, some of them are liberal.

but the left wing loonies will only cry about the conservatives who bring this to our attention. the one's who actually vote because of skin color, get a pass.

fucking lefties.

I wonder how many Ritchie's are voting for Romney because he's white? Because I know he can't be the righty candidate of choice the way they complained about him in the primaries.
