I'm Christian, but he is only worthy of forgiveness of sins through Christ. That literally means repentance, by doing good where he has done wrong, and changing ways. Any Christian worth their salt, should know he needs to get the hell out of a position of power regardless, if found guilty. Just because a Christian forgives doesn't mean they're going to let them continue on like nothing happened.
These nutbags are a faux type of Christian, that pick and choose. Most the time they choose what involves others doing something, rather than them fulfilling any literal Christian doctrine. Just like you only hear about gay's, and abortion, but you get the opposite of any doctrine from them, when it involves the poor, and in need, or money, pride, etc. Their anger, prejudice, and judgment don't fit in the way of Christ. I have a hard time staying in the lines myself, but all this stuff is getting pitiful.
I'm quite tired of fellow Christians voting Republican, because of the pseudo, and push button pro-life stuff politicians push. It doesn't take much of an I.Q. to see how fake, or just blind, the faith they claim as their own is. Pro-life? Wait till guns, the death penalty, and war come up. They can't even handle gays, and abortion without going against Christ's, word on sin, and judging it.
