During his 1st term, Trump underestimated the depth and breadth of the swamp. He was not a professional politician. He's got a better knowledge of the landscape now.
Besides, the Democrats reeked havoc with him and his staff via phoney allegations, impeachment and all manner of unwarranted investigations. Yes, his 1st administration was tumultuous. It will be far less so this time.

Trump is not the kind of person to reflect on mistakes or have an internal dialogue with himself about how to do better. Trump openly says he doesn't make any mistakes, that he is a genius, and he knows more than the generals and scientists.

Marco is a special case. Like all of Trump's picks with only a couple exceptions, he's had some pretty harsh words for Trump. But he also rolled over and submissively pissed himself in service TO Trump so it's kinda unclear whether he's actually got a spine or if it was a simple spasm of the last vestiges of common human decency "Li'l Marco Rubio" had in him.

Either way, he won't last 4 years. Sec of States commonly bail after a couple years. Besides, Marco occasionally seems to have his own thoughts which might accidentally cause problems in his relations with Trump.
