Rush says "sorry"

Props to El Rushbo. He's a despicable human, but apologizing was a big move for him.

Now, the outrage will switch to how Obama called the student. At least, that's what Yurt has told me...

The apology is no big deal. He got the attention he wanted.
 
Limbaugh published the apology on his Web site Saturday afternoon.


“For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke,” Mr. Limbaugh wrote.


On the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday editions of his talk show, Mr. Limbaugh loudly criticized Ms. Fluke as sexually promiscuous and politically motivated — “an anti-Catholic plant,” he said at one point.


On Wednesday, he called her a “slut” who “wants to be paid to have sex”; on Thursday, he said she was “having so much sex, it’s amazing she can still walk”; and on Friday he said Ms. Fluke had testified that she was “having sex so frequently that she can’t afford all the birth-control pills that she needs.”

Actually, I don't think it did. He seems sincere in his apology, and he could retire a very wealthy man tomorrow.

he would miss the attention too much...

as for the sincerity of his apology, i think he sincerely misses his sponsors

but then, who knows what goes on in a mind like that

He's extremely wealthy, and very popular with plenty of businessmen who don't have a problem calling a woman a slut, so sponsorship isn't likely an issue for him. I'll take him at face value.

Is he picking up sponsors replacing the ones suspending their accounts?

This is always the Rush defense.

Every time he says something indecent he's being satirical, humorous, making a parody. And if you aren't clever enough to get his humor, well, that's your problem. This has been his modus operandi for over twenty years. He says whatever the hell he wants and then falls back to to the Aw shucks, folks, I was only kidding position.
