Threats against Internal Revenue Service workers and facilities continue to pour in following the deliberate plane crash by a tax resister at agency offices in Austin.

IRS watchdogs are investigating more than 70 reported instances of inappropriate comments made to agency workers by taxpayers, union officials said.

National Treasury Employees Union President Colleen M. Kelley said that workers have received a mix of inappropriate comments, including jokes or statements of support for dead suicide terrorist A. Joseph Stack III, and more serious threats. Kelley said she learned of the threats from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, which tracks threats against IRS workers.

Neither TIGTA nor the IRS would confirm an actual number of threats or share details of ongoing investigations.

“TIGTA is actively and aggressively investigating all threats made against IRS employees, infrastructure and property,” said J. Russell George, the treasury inspector general for tax administration.

IRS workers are instructed to report threats made against them to TIGTA immediately. The watchdog has established a toll-free hotline, e-mail address and internal messaging system for workers to quickly report potential threats.

“It would be a little naïve to think that we don’t get some threats over the course of doing business," said IRS Communications Director Terry Lemons.

Attacks and threats against IRS workers and facilities happen frequently and are not confined to the annual tax filing season. The most recent attack at the Austin offices comes amid a wave of attacks by so-called 'resisters' at government and military facilities in the last six months.

Big Gubmint has never lied to you, Billy. Big Gubmint likes those who pay their taxes and obey the law.

Unlike these people:

A gunman opened fire and shot two police officers at the main entrance to the nation's largest federal building on Mar. 4. John Patrick Bedell, 36, calmly pulled a gun from his coat pocket and shot without saying a word before he was seriously wounded in a flurry of return fire, according to the civilian Pentagon Force Protection Agency. He died of his injuries later.

Here's information on other attacks on federal buildings this year:

• January 3: The Federal Bureau of Investigation reported that nine envelopes nine envelopes containing powder and a threatening letter were sent to congressional offices throughout Alabama. No lawmakers handled the letters or came anywhere near them. Investigators later concluded the letters contained a fructose sugar substance.

• January 4: A gunman opened fire in the lobby of the Lloyd D. George U.S. Federal Courthouse and Office Building, killing a security officer before he was fatally shot by federal officers. The building also housed local offices for Sens. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and John Ensign (R-Nev.)

• February 18: A low-flying small plane crashed into an office building that housed Internal Revenue Service employees in Austin. The crash killed the pilot and one IRS employee and was the latest in a series of attacks on IRS facilities and workers.

That's not what I asked. I could care less what the government likes. I asked you about people wanting more big government, since when you first started posting here, that's what you claimed. And now all these things happen that are contrary to your original premise.

Don't feel too bad though. I'd be hated and fearful too if I had been fucking millions of people over for five decades.

4 misguided criminals out of a total population of 307,006,550 is hardly a rejection of Big Gubmint, Billy. The vast majority craves Big Gubmint, hence Big Gubmint grows and grows.

The tiny enclave of embittered hate-filled conspiracy nuts that resists Big Gubmint will be punished severely.

BTW, from your statement I see that you are confessing that you are a virgin. Try removing the porn actresses from your posts, and maybe a woman will actually have a relationship with you someday.

Oh. no. the totalitarian nazi IRS is scared. Poor nazis.

Speaking of the IRS, I would like to point out that the pirated version of Turbotax I used sucked, and screwed up the report on my last year's income, so that it got twice rejected by the IRS before I finally outsmarted the damn program.

Getting rejected by an institution run by Timothy Geithner, a fucking tax cheat, just burns me up. Fuck the IRS, fuck Geithner, and fuck the douchebag who appointed him!!!

Go ahead and make some militia-like threats, and we'll see who gets "fucked", brave boy.

Well, seeing as how I'm actually in a militia, I could technically do that. Personally, I'd settle for seeing Big Gubmint prosecute Geithner for tax evasion and throw him into prison...
