Due to the Radical Left Democrat shutdown, this government website will not be updated during the funding lapse. President Trump has made it clear he wants to keep the government open and support those who feed, fuel, and clothe the American people.

Only one entity who could end it within minutes and it ain’t Schumer

The "clean" continuing resolution (CR) refers to H.R. 5371, a House-passed bill extending federal funding at current levels through November 21, 2025, without Affordable Care Act subsidy extensions, was opposed by Democrats in the Senate.

Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is the Senate Minority Leader.

In the Senate, this bill requires 60 votes to invoke cloture and advance (due to filibuster rules).

It was repeatedly blocked by Senate Democrats, who filibustered it by voting against cloture motions.

Only three Democrats/Independents consistently crossed over in support: Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), John Fetterman (D-PA), and Angus King (I-ME). One Republican, Rand Paul (R-KY), opposed it each time, citing concerns over unchecked spending.

What's the "schumer shutdown"?

The USDA has warned states via memo that SNAP and related benefits funding may run dry by November if the Schumer shutdown persists beyond current reserves, which cover October issuances.

This could lead to delays or pauses, but it's not immediate. Senate Democrats in Congress could end the shutdown and restore funding by passing a clean CR.

Official contingency plans confirm no disruption for September/October benefits so far.
