Scots wha haen’t

Almost 2000 English voters were asked if they supported giving Scotland more money to stay in the UK. The majority said no.

Support: 26%
Oppose: 34%

A report in February concluded that an independent Scotland would struggle to maintain its £40 billion public spending deficit - that's for 5 million people, folks - currently financed by the UK, if Scotland tried to launch a new currency. Their one hope would be for the EU to take them on. Would the EU do that to spite England?

When did thieves ever vote to give anything back? If we got back their thievings from us in Cymru we could pave all the necessary new roads we need with gold. :)

A poll? :palm:

I enjoyed both Scotch and Sour Mash when younger, but I'm strictly with clear-colored spirits now.
Easier on the septuagenarian tummy.

What were we saying about Scotland again?
I never played St. Andrews. It's a shame.

Don't bother. They fucked it up , bigly.
Played it 30+ yrs ago when you needed to show your GHIN card and you had to be an 18 hc maximum to play.
Last time I played it, they were teeing off foursomes every 5 minutes. One guy in our group had never played golf in his life. On the third hole a course marshal told us we had to speed up when we were waiting on the group ahead of us on every single shot.
By the fourth hole there were three foursomes waiting at the tee.
A diamond in the rough there is Lundin Links. They play one of the Open qualifying rounds there.

The one idea I have heard is that Scotland could get the money they need by massively boosting tourism .

That is not going to work.

That is a lot of debt for not a lot of people. How did that happen?

They work at it. Among other things, they have free higher education for all EU students (but not students from England and Wales even before Brexit – seriously).

One vague notion is that North Sea oil would pay for all this largesse in an independent Scotland. What they don’t say is that much of the oil “belongs” to the Orkney and Shetland islands, which are strongly pro-Union and would probably secede from Scotland if Scotland seceded from the UK.

I'd like to see the redesigned Union Jack without the Scottish Cross joining England and Northern Ireland.
Maybe Wales would finally get represented on it instead.

Our flag is based on Roman legionary standards (they'd moved on from eagles by then) and represents Britannia, back in the days before the eastern peasants decided to identify with the foreign mercenaries who'd got control. I think they'd be better to use ours! :)

A red Dragon looks a lot better than that fucking Unicorn.

The Roman legions didn't have flying pussycats on their standards
