While interesting, I suspect Judge Dannenberg's age was the major trigger for resigning. Making it political, righteous or not, was just for show. That said, I agree with him, but an elderly Judge who wouldn't be traveling from Hawaii to Washington DC for SCOTUS cases anyway has nothing to lose by resigning.
