Just read Maureen Dowd's op ed piece in the NY Times...and it became more apparent than ever that Democrats and liberals are masters at identifying and discussing what Joe Biden is doing wrong (or just not doing)...while Republicans and conservatives are masters at not giving a shit about what Trump and people like him are doing wrong (or just not doing).

One side (the left) of the political continuum prides itself on being "honest" and being willing to find fault with their leaders...while the other (the right) prides itself on being able to totally disregard the faults of theirs. One side (the left) essentially aids their opponents...while the other side (the right) will shit on the agenda of the other (the left) even if it means giving up benefits for the people it represents.

Both sides, at the moment, are unified in creating an environment in which our Republic will be destroyed.

Okay. I'm 85...so fuck it. I'll be dead (relatively) soon. Let the future take care of itself.

But to the people of the left who insist on sharing why they oppose certain possible Democratic candidates no matter what...and who pride themselves for pointing our the faults and failures of today's Democratic leaders...you should all roast in Hell (if there is a Hell) for all eternity. You are as culpable in the disaster that will ensue if Trump or ANY REPUBLICAN candidate wins over whomever the Democrats choose.

We don't lose sight of the huge improvement that Biden represnts over the diseased orangutan, Frank,
but Americans in general have not been historically good at looking at the big picture.

They reflexively react to their immediate circumstances and eventually pay the price for doing so.
It's a catastrophic national weakness that's taking its toll on the republic..

After Bush stole the election


When we started to use computers to vote


Because then you had to have the infrastructure to cast a vote


Limit the amount of infrastructure to certain voting areas and poof you have long long lines to vote


Those lines we always see sure have lots of brown and black peoples in them huh

Dowd sucks. Stopped reading her shit years ago. She pretends to be a Democrats and does nothing but bash liberalism.

Without having seen the article I can gander a guess. She's talking about people on the left, who while glad Democrats have power think many mainstream Democrats are neoliberals and need to move to the left. Thus the proverbial political question, should you just be happy to have power or really fight to do what you want when you have it?

In California there's a new Working Families Party that's been formed. They aren't going to run candidates for office as much as back the most progressive ones possible. The WFP claims too many Democrats in the state are beholden to big tech and corporate dollars. Of course there has been some pushback that they will be spoilers and support too many candidates who can't win.

So again same thing, is overall power more important or candidates aligned closer to your interests?

Believe in mankind

The Democratic Party is the only reason we are not already a fascist nation


Work from the local level right to the top level with the Democratic Party for a few years


Get the Republican Party cheating removed from the equation


You elect as many Democrats as possible for a few years



You will be blow away by the result


We will have a free nation again


Then we can truely begin to build an opposition party that has integrity

IMAGINE


a nation with two moral parties Working their asses off to come up with better ideas than the other party


A nation where you sometimes vote for one party and sometimes vote for the other party BECAUSE of their ideas

At a high level think about what you're saying, that unless we all walk in lock step and don't criticize our leaders then our Republic will be destroyed. Rather frightening either way.
