Sears, Kmart pull shirt calling Ashli Babbitt an 'American Patriot'

Sears and Kmart have pulled a T-shirt from their websites that referred to Ashli Babbitt, the woman who was shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, as an “American Patriot.”

The shirt, which also included a faded black and white American flag, prompted backlash from social media users Tuesday after Vox’s Aaron Rupar tweeted a screenshot of the item of clothing, as well as the links to the product on Sears's and Kmart's websites.

The stores are so desperate for a sale, they have lowered themselves to get in bed with the TRUMPTARDS!

The incredible shrinking business that Sears/Kmart has become enters 2021 with probably less than 100 locations between the two nameplates still open for business but based on its recent attrition rate that count could be half of that by the end of the year.

The two store brands — each once the largest retailer in the country but now barely existing — have been closing locations at an alarming rate over the past few years, a pace that has not let up since emerging from bankruptcy nearly two years ago under the ownership of corporate parent Transformco. That entity is owned and controlled by Edward Lampert, who also was the chief shareholder and CEO in the company’s previous incarnation as Sears Holdings.

As recently as February 2018, there were nearly 1,000 individual locations under the two nameplates but when the company came out of chapter 11 a year later it was down to 400 stores. Later that year, in November, a statement from Transformco — the last time is has commented publicly about its store count — put the number at about 190.

Capitalism at its best.

April 5 2021
An April 3 letter addressed to Kevin Perry, president of the Georgia Beverage Association, from members of the the Georgia House Republican Caucus, requested the removal of all Coca-Cola products from an office suite. Eight GOP legislators signed off on the memo.

Former President Donald Trump and Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel both publicly slammed the MLB for its move, and called on supporters to do the same.

"Boycott baseball and all of the woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections," Trump said in a statement.

Just like teabaggers (www.teaparty.org) boycotted football.

Yeah, the "funny" hypocrites.

If only it was early 2020 when toilet paper was huge and in demand.
