The defense had argued a person of that age could carry such a weapon under Wisconsin law as long as it wasn’t a short-barreled rifle. After the prosecution conceded that the AR-15-style rifle didn’t have a short barrel, Judge Schroeder dropped the charge from the case.

Maybe justice will actually be served this time. Are we sure that prosecutor actually passed the bar?? It seems they did a shitty job

Richie McGinniss, a videographer for the online publication the Daily Caller called by the prosecution, testified that Mr. Rosenbaum was chasing Mr. Rittenhouse through a parking lot and appeared to lunge for Mr. Rittenhouse’s gun in the moments leading up to the shooting. Mr. Grosskreutz said in his testimony that he was pointing a handgun toward Mr. Rittenhouse when the then-17-year-old fired at him, causing severe damage to Mr. Grosskreutz’s arm.

The prosecution has always faced an uphill battle in the case. Under Wisconsin law, the defense must only cite some evidence for self-defense, putting the burden of proof on prosecutors to negate that claim beyond a reasonable doubt.

Officials in Kenosha are preparing for the possibility of unrest after the verdict.

On Friday, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers approved the deployment of 500 National Guard troops to stage outside the city.

They will be ready to be deployed into Kenosha if called upon by local authorities to back up hundreds of officers from volunteering local law-enforcement agencies providing public safety after the verdict, according to a release from the Wisconsin National Guard.

They have to hype it up.

.
Of course they do. After all, look at the Derek Chavin verdict ... NATIONAL NEWS ... they have to keep the headlines otherwise this kangaroo court will become a footnote in history.

I posted that the weapon charge was in a gray area as the rifle is not functionally different from a typical hunting rifle, which kids as young as 12 are permitted to carry in Wisconsin. It looks like I was wrong, it wasn't even a gray area. The prosecution clearly threw that charge in to support the narrative that he was illegally carrying the gun.

It's a purely political prosecution and Rittenhouse is a political prisoner.

They really need to start shutting these protests down at the very beginning!

Protests are constitutionally protected (unless someone is protesting DEMOCRATS).

Riots aren't constitutionally protected.

If the DEMOCRATS who run Kenosha had done their basic duty last August, Kyle could have stayed home.

Don't let the DEMOCRAT Wisconsin governor off the hook. He deployed a fraction of the guardsmen that the locals requested and even refused an offer of help from president Trump. Until after the Rittenhouse self defense shootings that is.
