The defense had argued a person of that age could carry such a weapon under Wisconsin law as long as it wasn’t a short-barreled rifle. After the prosecution conceded that the AR-15-style rifle didn’t have a short barrel, Judge Schroeder dropped the charge from the case.

Maybe justice will actually be served this time.
Officials in Kenosha are preparing for the possibility of unrest after the verdict.
On Friday, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers approved the deployment of 500 National Guard troops to stage outside the city.
They will be ready to be deployed into Kenosha if called upon by local authorities to back up hundreds of officers from volunteering local law-enforcement agencies providing public safety after the verdict, according to a release from the Wisconsin National Guard.
Weapon charge dismissed. Rittenhouse previously faced up to nine months in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted on the misdemeanor weapons charge.

I posted that the weapon charge was in a gray area as the rifle is not functionally different from a typical hunting rifle, which kids as young as 12 are permitted to carry in Wisconsin. It looks like I was wrong, it wasn't even a gray area. The prosecution clearly threw that charge in to support the narrative that he was illegally carrying the gun.

It's a purely political prosecution and Rittenhouse is a political prisoner.

Protests are constitutionally protected (unless someone is protesting DEMOCRATS).
Riots aren't constitutionally protected.
If the DEMOCRATS who run Kenosha had done their basic duty last August, Kyle could have stayed home.
