Senate Measure to Condemn MoveOn.Org Passes 72-25

You can express any opinion you want, unless it disagrees with what a majority of the Senate wants to hear. In that case you will be officially and publicly defamed.

Well, it's good to see the Democrats standing up as usual, with their battlecry "Duck the Torpedos and Draft an Apology!"

I'm telling you - people say that Bill O'Reilly is just a boob and that no one really listens to him, but I don't think this happens without him.

Have you seen FoxNews over the past couple of days? You would think MoveOn has supplanted Osama Bin Laden as our #1 threat. Then, Bush targets them in his press conference today, followed by this resolution.

Distract, distract, distract; the playbook remains intact...

No I havent' seen it, but I guess I will have to start paying more attention. I do think that FOX is part of the right wing machine that drives the narrative in this country, and I should pay more attention.

So, summing up the events of yesterday and today, more U.S. senators (72) voted to condemn a newspaper ad attacking Gen. Petraeus than voted yesterday (56) to lengthen the time off troops get from the frontlines in Iraq thereby reducing individual soldiers exposure to actual attacks or than voted yesterday (56) to restore the right of habeas corpus to people detained by the United States.

Nice work, assholes.

Fox still has it up there, with the big sub-head "Dem Presidential hopefuls fail to back measure."

I mean...WTF? Is the country still falling for this faux-patriotism garbage?

I've had it, truly. If the next election is going to be decided by who will condemn MoveOn, and who won't - you can count me out...

Has anyone read the actual resolution? It's so over the f'ing top it's unreal. Here is the gist of it:

(8) A recent attack through a full-page advertisement in the New York Times by the liberal activist group, Moveon.org, impugns the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all the members of the United States Armed Forces.

(b) Sense of Senate.--It is the sense of the Senate--

(1) to reaffirm its support for all the men and women of the United States Armed Forces, including General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq;

(2) to strongly condemn any effort to attack the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all the members of the United States Armed Forces; and

(3) to specifically repudiate the unwarranted personal attack on General Petraeus by the liberal activist group Moveon.org.

Once again, nice work assholes.

We have a piss poor govt and MSM right now....
