She voted for Trump. Now she fears losing the Obamacare plan that saved her life

Il y a quelque chose qui cloche..
Concepts of thoughts and prayers..

Reporting from Lake City, Fla. — Kathy Watson was anxious about her health coverage even before she woke up gasping for breath last month and drove herself to the emergency room with a flare-up in her heart condition.

After struggling for years without insurance, the 55-year-old former small-business owner — who has battled diabetes, high blood pressure and two cancers — credits Obamacare with saving her life.

Watson also voted for Donald Trump, believing the businessman would bring change. She dismissed his campaign pledges to scrap the Affordable Care Act as bluster.

Now, as she watches the new president push to kill the law that provided her with a critical lifeline, Watson finds herself among many Trump supporters who must reconcile their votes with worries about the future of their healthcare.

Watson, a proud, salty woman who was uninsurable a few years ago, isn’t ready to renounce Trump. But she’s increasingly frustrated by his vague promises to replace Obamacare with something better.

“I’ve been through enough,” Watson said recently, sitting on the patio outside her mobile home, down a sandy road in a rural corner of northern Florida. “I don’t want to go back.”

She's an idiot. What's your point?

We are going to see a lot of this. That's really too bad. You voted for it. Enjoy
Obamacare did nothing for the cost of health insurance in the US other than to raise it. The government is now subsidizing Obamacare policies--which were supposed to be subsidized from profits of insurance companies involved with the program--to the tune of about $100 billion a year.

That's expected to rise to about $300 billion next year as some initial subsidy pay ins end. By 2026 it'll be close to half a trillion dollars.

Let's cut healthcare for the poor and sick. That surely will make America great again!

Wrong! Obamacare does not provide any sort of healthcare, just insurance for payment of services rendered.
Yeah let's save money and stop offering healthcare and insurance. Pull yourselves up by the bootstraps. If a rapist can be president he surely can perform your liver replacement surgery. Don't worry. Trump will save us all.

Healthcare and health insurance are two separate issues. You conflate them. What I'd like to see is far less health insurance and more market driven payment for healthcare. The reason for that is it would drive down the cost of most healthcare while providing equal or better quality of service and outcome.

Personally, I pay quite a bit for health insurance coverage and don't come close to using what I pay for.

We could save a lot of money by doing away with it all. I think we should just pray to trump for health. He promised to take care of us all. He has got this.
