“The troops were supposed to reach Kyiv in a week, replace the Zelensky government with decent people, then come back after a week,” Berlusconi told the television program Porta a Porta. “Instead they encountered an unexpected level of resistance which was fed by the supply of weapons from the West.”

He made no mention of the Russian death squads who reportedly had the task of hunting down and killing President Zelensky following the invasion.

After tomorrow’s general election in Italy the dominant party is expected to be the ‘Brothers of Italy’, widely regarded as the heirs of fascism, with Berlusconi’s Forza Italia as junior partners. This would make the most right-wing (or if you believe some JPP pundits, left-wing) government since Mussolini.

What is driving the Italian people back into the arms of fascism? Fear?

Putin boot-lickers have been attempting to revise history and exuse Vlad's failures by claiming Putin never wanted to conquer Kyiv and Ukraine. The tale they tell is that Putin is perfectly happy just to defend the thin sliver of land he currently occupies along the shores of the Sea of Azov.
 
Putin would have put people in charge who would follow his orders. It was an attempt to take over Ukraine so Russian oligarchs and Putin would get even richer and more powerful. Wars are about money. This one makes that super clear.
