Isai Orona, 35, nicknamed “Panda,” has been sentenced to 54 months in federal prison for smuggling over 2,500 illegal immigrants into the U.S. in 2023.

Orona used WhatsApp to coordinate a network of drivers, utilizing at least 12 vehicles to transport immigrants, many to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
His operation was uncovered after a co-conspirator was arrested in El Paso.
