Winners:

Rudy - Got all the easy ball questions. Made himself the only "moderate" among conservatives.

Fred Thompson - Started weak but answered with sense at the end, at least looked a little better than before

Mike Huckabee - Smart, personable, and wavered with a gentle touch

Losers:

Mitt - Got all the hard questions among conservatives....Aka flag, torture, etc...

John McCain - Looks like he is 90 years old...Lost the get out of Iraq Republican voters...

Duncan Hunter - Why is he on stage?

Stayed the same:

Ron Paul - got some good applause and got some boos

Tom Tancredo - won some applause but everybody still thinks he is a goof

Fred Thompson was horrible. Isn't this guy supposed to be a professional actor? He's a total stiff.

Where's that alleged Reaganesque charm (and good, "Old Spice" smell)? He's completely underwhelming and lame.

Definitely. And his poll numbers show it. Once people got a look it was over.

"Holy fuck? What happened? Wasn't I supposed to steamroll over everyone else? God, why did these losers have to drag me out of bed..." - Fred Thompson

What happened, Thompson, was that you got Paulitized.

Huckabee got the easiest questions among them. It was as if CNN wanted him to look better. Plus nobody was pressing him.

I thought Hunter put on a Good performance, Huckabee put on a good show, problem is, I was hoping Giuliani would hit it out the park tonight, he didn't really stumble, but he didn't really breakaway either...

If Hillery's the nominee, every Republican will vote for Giuliani regardless of his being rough around the edges, and he'll attract those ohhhhhh so critical independents who will see the scripted waffling ways of Hillery.

Hello Larry, and welcome aboard.

I think Guliani was weak tonight. Weak.

One of the most notable things was how most of the candidates singled out Hillary in their own ads. She will be the nominee. And whomever the Republicans nominate, save for Ron Paul, will lose to her. :D

The obvious answer is "The Democrats."

What a pandering, flip-flopping group of phonies. I loved the Bible questions & the abortion questions, in particular. That's a really squirmy group up there when they have to talk in language that is geared toward "the base," and you know that the wording will start to change in about 6 months or so....

Maybe, and glad to have you back WRL. But I thought Giuliani looked like a HUGE FOOL when he tried attacking Romney for having some company work on the governors mansion who happened to have illegals working for them. Romeny handled it very smothly when he asked if average americans checked the status of those workers employed by companies working on there homes.

Giuliani will certantly NOT get my vote in the General but he is the best of the Republicans. He is a social liberal and I would be ohh so happy if the Republicans nominate a social liberal.

Now... as far as Senator Clinton, I belive she will not live up to the negative hype the Republicans have built up about her and when average Americans give her a look, the negative hype will backfire on the Republicans. Its like downplaying expectations. If Unless she makes her campaign speeches wearing a witch hat while perched on a broom she will beat most conservative expectations. You will hear a lot of, "She is not as bad as I thought"!
