The mother of an unarmed National Guardsman shot to death by police wants the officer who fired the fatal bullet taken off the streets.
Cecilia Reyes spoke out in Harlem on Saturday.
Her son, Sergeant Noel Polanco, was shot and killed in Queens in October of 2012.
It happened after he was pulled over on the Grand Central Parkway by Detective Hassan Hamdy.
Detective Hamdy said the 22-year-old reached for an object that he thought was a weapon.
But no weapon was ever found.
Reyes settled a wrongful death lawsuit against the NYPD for $2.5 million dollars earlier this week.
