YANGON, Myanmar - After crushing the democracy uprising with guns, Myanmar's junta switched to an intimidation campaign Wednesday, sending troops to drag people from their homes in the middle of the night and letting others know they were marked for arrest.

This whole situation is so putrid, and really shows the unmentionables of quite a few countries, not to mention companies. According to something I read from Greepeace, BP and Sunoco have the least troublesome records. Chevron and Exxon/Mobile are defintely f'd up.

China sucks. In this country not that many people in the activist community care enough to sustain large protests at the UN. They are too busy with the upcoming war with Iran, or feel that they are. It's just a freaking mess all around, and beyond heart breaking.
