It applies only to those requesting medical or religious exemptions until those requests are reviewed. It does not apply to those merely refusing. The religious exemption should be interesting. For instance, if your kids are vaccinated for school, a religious exemption request is laughable.

That's true, but how would your employer know if your kids are vaccinated, because of HIPAA?

IF they can require frequent drug screens, I don't see why they can't require frequent COVID tests too. If they won't get vaxxed, make them test weekly (or less) at their own expense -- in front of a company nurse or other person authorized to make sure there's no cheating.

HIPAA probably doesn’t apply. Especially if a question would be “did you claim a religious exemption for any dependents”?
 
That is true, if worded like that. Still, no way to determine if the person is lying about that or not.

School vaccination records may not apply. HIPAA applies to health care providers, not necessarily school vaccination records. One could find out from a school district if a religious exemption was claimed without actually accessing any medical records.

Simple they can't fulfil their federal contracts if they have no one to fly or maintain their planes.

Well the Pfizer vaccine used fetal cells so people object to that on religious grounds not sure about the Moderna vaccine.
