"Democrats are way ahead of where Republicans were if they simply begin public hearings next month."

PBS Newshour reached out to every Republican Congress member on the committees holding the current closed hearings but none would appear on Newshour to answer questions, so they turned to Representative Speier who agreed to speak.

There is no defense for the President, no substance to argue on. No merit.

That's why Republicans are arguing process.

If you're arguing process, you're losing.

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

Heh heh heh.

We do live in interesting times.

But of course back then, Clinton was not arguing procedure. How many times did she step right up and submit for questioning?

Every time she was asked. Which of course is what an innocent person does. Guilty ones act like Trump & His (R)oach Army.

That was ok then. It was following the rules of the house that Boehner developed. The Dems are following those rules now, but it is not OK. When will Dems understand that?

We would have to exist in an alternate universe for Trump to submit to questioning.

His attorneys will never allow it because he simply cannot desist from lying the second his ugly piehole opens. He'd perjure himself in the first five minutes of testimony.

Remember Trump's last press conference? How about the daily pressers? That is clear evidence that Trump and his admin cannot stand up to scrutiny. Trump shows evidence of Alzheimer's or other brain damage and he needs to hide it from the public. Trump ordered his admin and all the people that work for him to refuse to testify, to ignore subpoenas and court orders. That is not working out so well, and the real point of it all is it cuts the legs from his eventual refusal to testify when he is called.
There are a couple of rightys trying to run for president. Trump should have dragged them on stage and creamed him with his huge brain. Let us debate. Nope Daffy, run and hide.

Oh yeah. There are three Republicans running for President against Trump. If he was such a 'stable genius,' why doesn't he agree to debate THEM?

Any stable genius should be able to make quick work of such 'inferior choices.'

The Benghazi hearings weren't impeachment hearings and an attempt to overthrow a DEMOCRATICALLY decided election of WE THE PEOPLE!

The Constitution gives "THE CONGRESS" the power of impeachment, IT DOESN'T give NANCY PELOSI & ADAM SCHIFF the power of impeachment. But when did the left worry about technicalities, due process, honesty & transparency?

Just a timing difference. McCarthy said the point was to hurt her polling and he was happy that it was working. That is political. They used mega millions of tax payer money for Repub political purposes and admitted it. Mccarthy also said they had another investigation teed up for her if she won.

What will Trump Republicans argue during the open hearings?

Will they claim, as they take part in a Constitutional impeachment inquiry, that the impeachment inquiry is a 'witch hunt,' that it is illegitimate?

That the proceeding they are a part of is 'fake news?'

It was so absurd for them to argue the closed door hearings were 'secret,' as all of those hearings included the Republican members of those committees.

So hypocritical to say that Republicans were excluded even as Republicans were actually INCLUDED.

And the really bizarre thing was when they stormed into the one hearing and disrupted it? Some of the ones who 'stormed in' were actually members of those committees and already had authority to sit in on those hearings.

They must take their constituents for absolute idiots.
