Tennesseans have circled the wagons to protect one of their own arrested in the Big Apple for gun possession, and now New York motorists may want to keep a closer eye on their speedometers.

n response to the arrest of 39-year old Meredith Graves for unlawful gun possession while visiting the newly opened 9/11 memorial, the Tennessee state legislature has taken action.

According to the New York Post, Tennessee’s state legislature has “declared civil war on New Yorkers“— at least when it comes to speeders in their state. State officials claim they may retaliate for the prosecution of a woman who was carrying an illegal pistol at the 9/11 Memorial.

LOL, fuck the Empire State. That would be awesome if troopers started pulling over all vehicles going 1 MPH over the limit that has NY plates.

Do you think the NY law is unconstitutional?

yes, according to both the US and NY state constitutions.

Bill of Rights, Article II Section 4

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms cannot be infringed.

and since NY has criminalized open carry, it leaves concealed carry as the only other option to exercise a right.

Yea it would be even funnier if New Yorkers, the wealthiest people in the world, pulled all of their investments out of Tennessee or said "Fuck them, will spend our billions of dollars of travel and vacation money somewhere else and won't bother driving through your fly over State.

Retaliate? Don't break laws and you won't have trouble. It's pretty simple, figure out what's legal and don't break laws.
My old man told me a long time ago that there's such a thing as dead right but still dead. Ms. Graves might have 3.5 years to show just how right she is. If she had taken her concealed weapon into an establishment serving alcohol in the State of Ohio with out an OHIO license, she'd be looking at a similiar charge. More if she drank. I mean what the fuck was she thinking? Reciprocity? Didn't it cross her mind that her concealed weapon permit/license may not be valid outside of Tennesee?

I mean to use an anology that would be like Topper pissing and moaning for getting arrested for possessing pot in Texas that he had bought legally under a perscription in California.

don't most anti-gunners like to use the 'treat gun licenses like drivers licenses' analogy? whats that constitutional clause about drivers and marriage licenses?

That's not the point I'm making. First, just because someone doesn't follow the NRA party line doesn't make them anti-gun. Some of us out here in civilization don't want people carrying guns in public places. What yal'l do in bum fuck Texas is up to you but keep in mind not everyone shares the NRA's views and worships guns as a religion.

But that aint even my point. My point is would you go to the New York 911 memorial carrying a concealed weapon to make a point about your right to carry a concealed fire arm there? No, you wouldn't. Why not? Cause you don't want to spend 3.5 years in prison to make a point. That would be stupid. Dead right but still dead.

your generalizations are stupid and make you look ignorant. why are you two dimensional like dune?

does the second amendment not apply in new york?

it's dangerous to be right when the government is wrong. so the lesson you want us all to take from this is if the government REALLY wants to enforce it's will, is to make all crime a death penalty crime and life will be utopia, right?

What is your interpretation of infringement?

Would you say someone's rights are being infringed if, say, they had to have a background check to buy a gun?

yes, i would. it's why I don't buy from 'licensed' dealers. i've talked to too many people who have been delayed or denied because they have the same name as someone on the ATF denied list, then they have to go through the whole appeals bullshit that costs even more money.

Okay, we disagree then. Very few rights are unlimited. Free speech and the classic "shouting fire", for example, or slander.

Your intrepretation of the constitution is extreme, and I'd wager not shared by very many.
