Author Stephen King’s X post on Friday saying there was no "visual evidence" that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis last week was “run over” by her car has sparked backlash online.

“The visual evidence shows no indication that the agent who fired the shots, Jonathan Ross, had been run over,” he wrote on X.

King’s comment come after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Ross had suffered internal bleeding to his torso during the January 7 encounter. Some social media users who lean politically left have questioned if the agent did actually suffer internal bleeding, which can vary in severity from bruising to significant blood loss.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has said Ross was struck by Good’s vehicle and that he fired in self-defense, a characterisation that has been rejected by Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and other Minnesota officials.

Some users posted that nobody was claiming the agent was actually “run over,” but said that videos of the shooting showed he was hit by the vehicle. Others pointed to the report that Ross suffered internal bleeding, suggesting it was evidence he was struck by Good’s vehicle.

Make America Great Again (MAGA) influencer Gunther Eagleman wrote on Friday that videos show Good “tried to run over and MURDER the ICE agent.” Right-wing influencer, Catturd, who has 4 million followers on X, responded with a GIF of former President Joe Biden saying, "What a stupid son of a b****."

A pro-Trump X user with the handle @iAnonPatriot who has more than 780,000 followers, told King: "You’re Ike 100 years old. Get your eyes checked." And another pro-Trump X account, Sarah Sizzle, with over 150,000 followers shared a GIF captioned "What an idiot!"

However, some agreed with King, a vocal Trump critic, noting that videos showed Ross walking away from the scene of the shooting without any apparent injury

Video captured by bystanders has not clearly shown Good’s vehicle making contact with Ross. He and other officers were seen walking without obvious difficulty after the 37-year-old was shot and crashed her vehicle.

King has not commented further on social media on Friday. But in a post on X last week, he wrote: "The louder right-wingers talk, the more worried they are. Renee Good has got them screaming."

Nothing coming out of the Trump administration, much less Kristi Noem's mouth, can be trusted without verification.

IMO, Ross reacted out of anger, and possible some PTSD, rather than self-defense. He murdered a young woman and should face justice for it.

King needs to go to his Ophthalmologist Ross was clearly struck by Good's SUV and can be seen limping after the contact.

A man who was hit by a car denying that it happened to another because it wasn't hard enough? I'm not quite sure what his malfunction is, but it is significantly life affecting.
Was the hit worth putting four rounds into Renee? I could understand one of the JPP MAGA morons doing it but a trained professional? WTF?

Three... Count with me... One. Two. Three.... (stop there, because that's how many shots were fired). I'm pretty sure you used to start races with it back in your heyday... One two three GO... Three... thou shalt count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out...

To answer your question, if he feared for his life it will be found to be justified because she hit him with a 2 ton weapon.

Imagine if someone shot at a Presidential candidate and only hit his ear... would it be a crime?

lol. <smh>....

So three shots into Renee is okay with you for this. Got it. Thanks for the feedback.

IMO, it should be adjudicated in court, not by your Orange King, Kristi or this forum. A woman is dead and Ross walked away with, at most, a bruise.

The issue you have is that if you actually analyse the video, it is ABSOLUTELY clear, he was not hit by the car.

He was leaning on it while standing on slippery surface (ice) and had his filming cell phone in his hand leaning on the car.

The car moved AWAY from him and he slipped as anyone standing on a slippery surface would.

When he fires the car is moving away and his second and third shot are in the back of the car, LEAVING.

I suspect you will deny the above video but what you will not do is give a time frame where you can show it wrong.

Thanks for your analysis.

If the State does not charge him, then we must simply accept Dems are weak and hopeless and will never be able to defend the country.

Even though these charges would be extremely hard to successfully prosecute to a verdict of guilt, it is necessary to charge him so other ICE thugs know they will face this risk in court and if they want to roll those dice, each time, then keep on killing. without such charges ICE will feel, as Trump does, that they are beyond the law.

Agreed. An example must be made of all murderers regardless of what side of the badge they are on. The actions of ICE are more thuggery than law enforcement.
