Putin is flailing to find a way to not make him look like the aggressor attacking a nation for fun and profit. Too bad, that is what he did. So he shut down the press except for the Putin/Fox propaganda network that just says what he wants. Propaganda does work. A reporter interviewed a group of people in Moscow. The vast majority said Putin was dragged into a war with Ukraine because they were run by neoNazis who were an immediate threat to mother Russia.

Putin's grasping at straws. He's losing and losing big. He's setting himself up to both have himself a Tianeman Square in Red Square then become the main star of a reenactment of "The Riddle of the Romanovs".

It would be ironic that he ends like the Romanovs since their deaths ushered in the Communist era and Putin represents the last gasp of the Soviet Union.
