Does it really take a foreign paper to say what every US media organization should have been saying all along?

She's a NY writer who still lives here, got her start at Jezebel, and is now the editor of Raw Story. I don't know why she didn't publish this here and whether it was because there was no high-profile outlet willing to publish it. But I wouldn't be surprised.

Imagine if they did that here? I guess you are not allowed to call her names. I have been wondering how civilized people live on the internet, now I know.

That is truly sad if that is the case. There should be a way we can let that girl know she is not alone, despite what the a-holes in her town may be insinuating. Always tough with a minor, because they keep her name protected for her sake, but that can also work to isolate her when the poor little football fans turn on her as the hostile ones are the only ones who know who she is.

If that is the case, then they should publish the names of the people along with photos that leave the comments and out them for the assholes they are.

[Photo A] Person A's comments have been deleted because they are an insensitive asshole who believes the rapists lives are of more worth than the victims.

I know, I keep thinking that too. I hope she does know. Her mom seems to have it together, so maybe she knows. She has so much support out here, I just hope some of it is getting through to her.
