in a national emergency situation, there are going to be millions of people who will foolishly believe that the government will be right there for them to provide for their every need. when that doesn't happen and people start getting thirsty or hungry, they are going to come looking for food and water to steal. Your failure to prepare for that eventuality will leave you as one of their victims.
