Syria; Damned if we do, damned if we don't, Energy Independence is the Answer here

I don't know about you Folks, but I say stay out of Syria. The key here is for US to become energy independent so we do not have to "Interfere" within the Arab Nation's "politics". There are bad things happening all over the World, why don't we stick our noses into those areas and help those people out? The reason is oil, just follow the oil/money.

My suggestion and I hope many others agree, is for President Obama to announce tomorrow that we are going to drill for oil in Alaska, Open the Canadian Pipeline, Drill Offshore and start exploring all the US for possible hydraulic fracturing for oil, and seek out more natural gas deposits.

Also, let's synchronize all major highway street lights, using satellite technology to change lights according to traffic flow.

Let's push for basically free Solar Panels on houses so that every house has nicely designed colorful solar panels on their roofs. I read that if everyone did that, they could sell their excess electricity back to Edison and lower their monthly bills, along with paying back for the solar panels.

If we did all the above or just announced that we would, the price of gas would plummet, the economy would boom, because people would be able to drive to Redondo Beach or La Jolla to eat fresh seafood without spending about $50.00 for gas, all from own personal experience.

Damned if we "don't"? How?
Are you for going into Syria or not? I am against it, my point being that there is no end to US being our "Brothers keeper". For years, I always heard that the next WW 3 would start in the Middle East, and we are due if Historical study means anything. I am against any Wars, but I am for a super strong Military which is a deterrent to War. If you people want a War, then bring back the draft so everyone's son goes in, with no exceptions. 59000 dead in Vietnam, for what, I just went to the Super Target store in the Menifee Marketplace to look at shirts, many of them were made in Vietnam, so I passed. We now have the technology to change everything, so we do not have to always "follow the oil".http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_the_United_States

Syria doesn't really have that much oil, only accounting for less than 0.5% of total world production.

My point is that the entire reagon is an oil based economy connected together either by pumping oil and/or transporting it. If a "War" starts in Syria, or any other Arab country, the Saudis and the rest will just have an excuse to raise oil prices.

Israel will always be an issue over there, but it looks like they can defend themselves, with our military supply support, without any of our guys fighting over there. Israel would have to be on its last legs, before we should send in our troops. I have stated the following for 8 years or so on these Boards; "There will be a day when the desert Arabs will fill their swimming pools with oil, because water will cost more than the oil".
