Taliban Getting Stronger, the Continued Failure of the War on Terror

BAC - What do you propose to do about the Afghanistan-Pakistan problem?

First and foremost recognize that if you want to stop terrorism, you have to stop using it.

Our policy of bombing anything we suspect of being a terrorist has been counter-productive and has only empowered the hard core. Nothing makes a suicide-bomber like blowing someone's family into little pieces.

Secondly, say the word "pipeline."

It's hardly spoken of by our politicians, Obama included, but it's a huge part of our foreign policy .. evident not only in Aghanistan, but also thoughout the Caspain region, especially in Georgia. That billion dollars of taxpayer money Obama, Biden, and Bush gave to Georgia was all about pipelines.

The US military has become highly paid security guards for pipeline business interests in Afghanistan and that has always been the case there from day one.

"We will carpet you with gold, or we will carpet you with bombs"

The Taliban is OUR creation, and had they agreed to allow UNOCAL and other US business interests to build a pipeline in Afghanistan we wouldn't give a rat's ass about Afghani girls not being able to go to school or anything else the Taliban did to the Afghan people. This is no different than was our policy with Saddam. We didn't give a fuck what he did to his people .. which by the way, was better than the treatment of citizens in many arab nations we call friend. In the view of US foreign policy, Saddam's most horrible offense was his deciding to convert to the euro. For that he had to be lynched.

And, I think most importantly, America must stop pretending the rest of the world is ignorant, blind, or both.

If terrorism is such a threat to the world, why does the world not all join in to fight it? The "coalition of the willing" in Iraq was actually the coalition of the billing. We paid other countries to join in and twisted the arms of others .. still they all got out, even England, as soon as they could .. many forced out by their own citizens .. including England.

Why aren't they all joining us with fervor in Afghanistan? Because they know a truth Americans don't know, can't face, can't deal with. They know the war on terror is a fraud .. which even the Rand Corporation acknowledges .. and they know 9/11 was a fraud .. which the Rand Corpration does not acknowledge.

What should we do about Afghanistan and Pakistan? .. We should get smarter my brother, stop using our military as glorified corporate security guards, stop using terrorism, seek REAL balance in the middle east, use money and soft power as a weapon, and concentrate on how to be a better global partner.

WE cannot kill terrorism, only find better and more intelligent tactics to defeat it.

Here is what I propose:

Bring our kids home. Let those countries (Middle Eastern countries not just Pakistan and Afghanistan) fight everything out among themselves even if it means eventually one of them takes over Israel. In the meantime we work on becomming energy independent so we don't have to deal with them.

That's what I'd like to see happen but I'm not kidding myself for a minute that that is what will happen.

Sorry Mr. Heap, you asked a serious question of BAC and I kind of let fly with my response. I had one of those "Isreal, religion, freind" discussions last night and I can't believe the religious weight so many people put on Israel. Kind of put me in a mood this morning.

This is an issue I have been arguing for many years. America pays a tremendous price for our ungodly and unbalanced support of Israel.

I'm sure that in the course of your conversation on the subject, "anti-semitism" worked it's way in the door,

I fully believe it is people who believe that helping prophesy along will make Jesus come and "rapture" them sooner. I suggest we leave Prophesy to the magic men and act as a nation in our own interest.

I've said that becoming free of foreign sources of energy is a national security issue, yet we have dragged our feet on that since the 70s and Carter. And suggesting that Solar Power is going to replace it is retarded, we have to work faster than that, it's time to start replacing it with what we have.

I'm for a "stick to the wall" approach. Throw everything at the wall and take what sticks and use it as glue.

What planet are you from?

"tail wagging the dog" .. how about its the citizens wagging the politicians .. just as it's supposed to be in a democracy.

SEE: Participatory government
Except in this case it's not "the People", but "the person".

SEE: George Soros
