Quite often we hear from our leftist friends on JPP that the federal gobblement just isn't collecting enough of the hard earned money that American citizens make. I hear quite often from JPP leftists that the United States should enact the top marginal tax rates from the 1950s on "the rich". Depending on the leftist, they believe that the federal gobblement should confiscate anywhere from between 70-90% of the income earned by "the rich".

I believe that it is politically cheap to sit and call for what you believe others should have to pay in taxes. That is easy to say, particularly if it will never have to apply to you.


So the question I have for our board leftists is what percentage of your income do you think the federal gobblement should take from YOU personally? Not what you think they should take from others, but what you think they should take from you? What is the highest rate YOU want to pay out of your own pocket.

Personally, I believe that the federal gobblement should take NOmore than 15% from any American citizen. Period.

I wonder how many of our JPP leftist friends will have the courage to step up?

we can solve our problems by making all tax credits non-refundable......no one should get taxes "back" that they didn't pay in the first place......

I would be happy with 10%, no deductions. I support a fair tax.

I'm partial to 20% however I do think the lower class should pay less to give them a chance to engage in the economy with some discretionary income.

The FAIR Tax proposal would be a great idea. Democrats, the one's you constantly and consistently support, would NEVER go for it.

I am all in for the Fair Tax. Unfortunately, not even the Republicans can agree on it. So answer the question honestly, although I doubt you have an honest bone in your body, what percentage do YOU think they should take from YOU personally?

Once again for the brain dead leftists: we do not have a Revenue problem in this country. Revenues keep increasing. We have a SPENDING problem. Spending keeps exceeding the revenue increases.

It's not difficult math; unless you are a low IQ dullard who gets their talking points from the FAKE media.

A progressive tax system is a must.

The rates right now for the lower middle class ($150,000 or less) are appropriate. As we get up into the $150,000 range...I think the amount over $150,000 should be higher. Above $250,000 should be even higher. Above that should be even higher...with huge increases to those making mega-bucks.

Capital gains should be taxed as ordinary income.

Inheritance taxes should be close to confiscatory over $1,000,000 (or possibly a bit lower.)

If you can't offer a response to what I asked, I will ask to have you retro thread banned as I do not want this thread to get off topic. Others were able to follow simple instructions. The left refuses to acknowledge that nobody evet paid 90% because of the deductions present at that time. The effective tax rate has been around 18% forever.
