Ted Cruz mocks ‘woke, emasculated military’ ad, compared to strong Russians

Sen. Ted Cruz ripped the US Army on social media for a new ad portraying a “woke, emasculated” United States military.

The Texas Republican retweeted a video comparing a Russian military ad featuring muscle-bound men shooting rifles to a US Army ad centering on a female American solider with “two moms.”

After seeing the Russian army performance against a weak nation in eastern Europe, my money is on the superiority of US Army, irrespective of how tough and battle-ready Ted thinks the Russians are compared to us.

Isn't Teddy the guy who tried to run away to Cancun when his state got blasted with a deadly freeze, and had to slink back in shame when caught? He's got some nerve, mocking others.

This also doesn't seem very masculine:

He basically blamed his tropical get-away on his teenage daughters, lying that he was just chaperoning them to their destination.

I have never agreed with Ted Cruz that the Russian army is superior to the United States Army.

The people who Cruz is attempting to entertain don't care what he says, more so, who he attacks and how he does it

America has been in wars for a century or more. We are pretty good at it and spend multiples of money that others spend on weapon platforms.

I get the impression Russian military doctrine emphasizes tanks and artillery. Infantry is their weak link.

The Russians love tanks and haven't realized that tanks are rapidly becoming obsolete, in the days when one man with a fifty thousand dollar shoulder fired missile can take out a twenty million dollar tank.

For too many years, conservatives like Ted Cruz, and the rightwing posters like Stone, Hawkeye10, Anatta, et al have made Putin and the Russian military out to uber-intimidating, ten foot tall supermen we should tip toe around and fear provoking.

Obviously, the US military is vastly superior to Russia's in weaponry, training, and organizational doctrine.

Agreed on all points. OTOH, Romney got ripped by Obama and the Democrats for pointing out Putin, and the Russians, were a national threat. Which they still are. It remains to be seen what Putin will do when he is losing completely in Ukraine. At the moment he seems to be hoping to hold the eastern corridor to Crimea.

At this point, I think the Ukrainians won't settle for anything less than the Russians completely out of the area.

Remind me again of how long it took us to run the Iraqis out of Kuwait, and a decade later how long it took us to invade and subjugate Iraq? I believe the time was measured in days.

I'd put our guys up against theirs any day.

The difference being kicking an aggressor out of one country and fighting people on their home turf.

Putin is finding out the hard way on what a modern military defending their homeland can do to the Russian Army.

I would too. Unlike the MAGA contingent on this board, I do not see a reason to be intimidated and cowed into submission by Vlad Putin.

The US armed forces in my adult life have generally always performed exceptionally well on the field of battle.
