Pregnant teenagers are taking up smoking in the hope of having smaller babies so that childbirth is less painful, a Government minister warned. Labour's public health minister Caroline Flint made the extraordinary claim after discussions with health professionals and young mothers.

You'd think that with UK teenagers knowledge of drugs, they'd have an idea that there's something available in hospitals which one can take for the pain. Besides, cesareans are this Autumn's hottest fad.

Kids today, eh? They don't know they're born...mainly because by the time they're actually born they've smoked the equivalent of a artic full of Lambert & Butler Lights.
 
It seems like they would figure out the best way to avoid the pain of childbirth. Not to get pregnant ;)
