Southern Star Brewing Company, a brewery in Conroe, Texas, will no longer host the "Rally Against Censorship" featuring Rittenhouse on Jan. 26, explaining its position Friday in a Twitter post.

"Southern star brewery is an apolitical organization. But we feel that this event doesn't reflect our own values and we could not in good faith continue to rent our space for the event on 1/26. We don't do rallies, we make beer for people who like beer," the brewery said.

These things take months to plan and now they are canceling a week in advance. I’m curious what changed their mind. The obvious answer is money such as seeing contracts cancelled or investors dropping out.

I never heard of their little company. It has a lot of specialty beers which seem to appeal to 20somethings switching from soda pop to alcohol: https://www.southernstarbrewing.com/our-beers

This one might appeal to WSEs:

It seems that the people sponsoring the rally intended to rent space from the brewery and the brewery decided not to allow them to rent it. I don't think the brewery had anything to do with the event, other than providing a venue.

Would you have the same view if they’d rented the space to NAMBLA and put their name on the rally banner?

The brewery condoned the event and then changed their mind. IMO, it’s always “all about the money”. The brewery started seeing investors backing out and distribution contracts falling through. A small company like their’s can’t take a major hit so they quit.

I'm sure the irony is lost on them............as it is on most liberals
What’s the irony? It’s a business decision. Again, if it had been NAMBLA sponsoring the event and the brewery backed out, the RWNJs on JPP wouldn’t be screaming “Censorship!”

In New America those the WOKE dont agree with are not allowed to speak.

We have regressed back to this shit.

I’m guessing Southern Brewery figured out that their desire for publicity didn’t match their ledger. Notice that it’s the violent RWNJs who were giving them death threats for canceling just like it’s JPP’s RWNJs who threaten to harm or kill members with whom they disagree:

The Jan. 26 event was also set to include a leader of TEXIT, a group that advocates for Texas to secede from the United States. The event organizer is Defiance Press, a Conroe-based publisher behind titles including “Corona-fascism” and a biography of Joe Arpraio, the former Maricopa County, Arizona, sheriff who refused a judge’s order to stop racial profiling by his department.

Conroe brewery receives flood of threats, harassment after canceling Kyle Rittenhouse event
A Conroe brewery says it’s been inundated with harassment and some threats after announcing Friday that it would no longer allow a “rally against censorship” featuring Kyle Rittenhouse to be held there later this month.

“It’s been kind of a shitstorm,” Southern Star Brewery CEO Dave Fougeron said in a Saturday morning interview. “But now I’m more certain than ever that I made the right decision.”

Fougeron also said that he was not aware until a few days ago that the event’s “special guest” was Rittenhouse. And he disputed claims – including those from Rittenhouse and others – that the cancellation came after pressure from a “woke mob” or distributors such as H-E-B.

What view are you insinuating I expressed? I think the brewery planned to rent out their space as a venue (presumably to make money), then changed their mind. My post was pretty clear.

You expressed that Southern Brewery was stupid enough to sponsor a show where they didn’t know what they were supporting.

Do you even know who Kyle Rittenhouse is?

Isn't he that kid who was attacked by a convicted child rapist and subsequently shot the child rapist in self defense? In Kenosha, Wisconsin? After a bunch of liberal lunatics rioted over a completely justified police shooting of another criminal who was accused of sexual assault? Yeah, I think I know who he is.
