Texas voting machines CHEATING voters

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) --
Voters are reporting odd problems on both the Republican and Democratic side of straight-party voting in Texas.

Mickey Blake was one of the voters in those early voting lines in Houston earlier this week.

"I hit straight Democratic ticket," Blake said.

She says she expected all Democrats to come up on her screen, especially Rep. Beto O'Rourke, but when she got to the last screen to review her choices, she noticed a problem.

"It's all Democratic except for Ted Cruz was checked," Blake said.

So she backed up and did it again. And again.

"I tried it a third time and the same thing happened," she said.

The same thing happened to Cordell Hosea in Fort Bend County.

"When I got to the end, I just so happened that I glanced at the screen, I saw Ted Cruz was selected as my senator," Hosea said.

He too voted straight ticket Democrat.

But it's not just a Democrat problem. Voters who select straight-party Republican unselect Sen. Cruz and wind up voting for no one. Either way, officials say it's a rare issue that happens, but not to everyone.

It's popped up across Texas often enough for the Secretary of State to put up a statewide advisory on Monday to every Texas election advisor.

The Secretary of State calls it 'operator error.'

"We've heard from voters over a number of elections about this," said Ft. Bend County Election Administrator John Oldham.

Oldham says it's a problem he's seen for years.

He even told the Secretary of State about it years ago and it's still happening.

They were having trouble with the identification number ticket machines when we went. It was spitting out multiple tickets at a time, it made me nervous about my vote.

Why are voter registration numbers surging right now?
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - News 3 has followed what some call "voter machine flipping" for the past two years.
Voters have reported seeing their vote for one candidate suddenly change over to another.
A voter in Chatham County told News 3 it happened to her when she voted during the Primary Election back in May.
News 3 did some digging and found out voters in other counties have also complained during early voting for this year's midterm election.
Wanda Small says she noticed something odd seconds after she stepped into the voting booth.
"I was at the booth, I had 'X'd' in the candidate I wanted to vote for, I was just about to confirm, when I noticed one of my 'X's' was out of place, it was actually at the opposing candidate," Small explained.
She said she immediately attempted to correct the problem, attempting to remove the 'X' from the box. But she noticed the machine would not allow her to make the change.
From there, Small called over a poll worker for help.
"Poll worker comes, she was unsuccessful, she had to call the head poll worker, they managed to get it out of that box and into the box where I needed it to be," she said.
It seems Small isn't alone.
The NAACP confirmed to News 3 that early voters across four counties in Georgia have also complained about voter machine irregularities. Those counties include Bartow, Cobb, Henry and Dodge.
The organization is also looking at the possibility of voting machine flipping in Candler County.
On Tuesday, the NAACP's Georgia Office filed complaints with the State Board of Elections claiming voter suppression tactics.
Officials with the Chatham County Board of Elections say they have had no complaints about their voting machines during early voting.
They did tell News 3 their machines are calibrated prior to every election. They also said the machines are sensitive and that having long nails, clothing, or jewelry could affect it.
The Board of Elections says their machines do no pre-select or change anything on its own.
They're reminding voters if you notice any problems -- contact a supervisor before casting your ballot.

Yikes.

We still vote by pen and paper, and I hope that never changes.

I also think it is ridiculous that in some precincts, people have to stand in line for two hours to vote. Voting should be as hassle free as possible. I don't think I have ever stood in line for more than five minutes.

Well yeah, if you actually want citizens to vote, but that's not the goal is it.

If there's problems on both sides, why are you only highlighting one? Oh, because you're a lying piece of shit, that's right. Nevermind. Say hello to the voices in your head for me.

Evidence-free assertions don't cut the mustard.

Evince has a long and established record of showing multiple court cases over many years, in which the courts had to tell the GOP to stop cheating, gerrymandering, vote suppressing.

Feel free to post a large body of verifiable links and evidence that courts in the modern era have found that the Democratic Party is cheating and suppressing votes in same sustained and widespread way the modern GOP is.

Otherwise, your assertions counts for nothing.
