Phoebe Connolly, a possible victim of game where teenagers appear to sucker-punch strangers, is encouraging people to think critically about how such attacks can be stopped.

Connolly was biking in the Columbia Heights area of Washington when she was struck. She had passed through a group of teenagers, she said, when one of them "reached out and punched me in the face."

"The whole group of kids laughed," Connolly told CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" on Tuesday night.

And she's not the only one.

Another woman was attacked in the same area one day earlier. She, too, sustained minor injuries, according to Washington police.

Authorities have reported similar incidents in New Jersey, New York, Illinois and Missouri.

One of the latest attacks happened in New York. A woman in her 70s was punched in the face by a man with whom she had no known previous contact or connection.

Nami Kim is a Japanese immigrant who has lived in San Diego for five years.

She calls what happened to her near the Gaslamp Quarter one of the strangest things she has ever been through. Kim says she suffered a swollen forehead and a chipped crown tooth as a result.

Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy accused of an attack at Hamden High School that appears to mimic the violent so-called “knockout game.”

On Nov. 22, a teacher frantically approached Officer Scott Jason, the school resource officer, to report an assault.

Police said a 15-year-old student ran toward a senior who was walking in the hallway and punched him.

The victim didn’t know the boy who assaulted him and said they he had never spoken.

When police spoke with the suspect, he told officers “it’s a game he and his friends play,” police said.

Police are investigating if a 72-year-old woman is the latest victim of the so-called “knockout game,” a violent trend in which youths sucker-punch unsuspecting strangers for kicks.

Mira Harpazi was walking two blocks from her home at the Starret City housing complex in Brooklyn when she was punched in the face by a man in his 20s, CBS 2′s John Slattery reported Tuesday.

A man offering a friendly greeting to a group of young adults may have been the first victim of the brutal “Knockout Game” in Washington state.

The victim was walking out of a store Saturday evening in the 9000 block of E. Sprague Street in Spokane when he passed a group of three 17-21 year olds, Spokane Valley Sheriffs reported.

The man said “what’s up fellas,” to the group before turning his head. One of the group’s members, for no apparent reason, punched the man in the face as he turned.

The man fell to the ground and was kicked and prodded by the group before a Good Samaritan came out of a nearby store to break up the incident. Police were called to the scene but were not able to locate any suspects, who had fled.

Photography intern Israel Blizovsky had just finished taking pictures at a Crown Heights engagement party when a hulking teen he was passing on the sidewalk cold-cocked him without warning.

“He was very strong. I was in shock,” said the 19-year-old from Beersheva, Israel.

“I saw a large group of black teenagers coming. I moved to the side to let them pass. Then, all of a sudden, when I was passing right next to them, I felt a punch in the face. They just kept walking. They were all laughing,” he told The Post through a Hebrew translator. “They said something right after he punched me, but I don’t understand English. It looked like they were making fun of me.”

On Monday afternoon around 4:15p.m. 18-year-old Anthony Brooks was walking home from classes at the downtown Damon Campus. He was in front of Baden Street Recreation Center when he was hit by two young men.

After that, Brooks says he blacked out for awhile and doesn't really know what happened or how many times he was hit. But he says it doesn't appear to have been a robbery. He had a laptop, cell phone, a wallet with a few bucks in it and a backpack, none of which were taken.

Brooks says he didn't recognize the men.

A nicotine fiend knocked out a total stranger on a Brooklyn street because he was angry that nobody would give him a cigarette — and then he did a victory dance because he “felt exhilarated,” police sources told The Post.

Michael Grant, 27, was trying to score the smoke on New Lots Avenue and Ashford Street at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, but lost his cool when he was turned down numerous times, he told cops.

The brute celebrated his sucker punch with a dance next to the injured woman’s body. He later told police, “I just felt exhilarated.”

In Lower Merion, a leafy suburb near Philadelphia, two attacks may be related to the game.

"We do worry that it's something like that ... because we've had two similar assaults, neither one of which resulted in a robbery," said Lt. Frank Higgins of the Lower Merion Township Police Department.

In one, two 19-year-olds were charged with knocking down a 63-year-old man out walking his dog the evening of Oct. 29. They were arrested nearby a short time later, and have been charged with assault.
