MSNBC did a piece on the use of torture, and the lies that led us to war.
Evidently, in 2002 Bu$hco. had a suspected al qaeda detainee, and wanted to know about alleged cooperation between Saddam and al qaeda.
They shipped the dude to egypt for torture.
The dude told the egytians that he didn't know about any links between saddam and al qaeda. So the eygptians stuffed him in a tiny 20 inch by 20 inch box, and buried him alive for 17 hours. The dude still said he didn't know anything about links between al qaeda and saddam.
So, they put him in a room, and pummeled him with their fists for fifteen minutes. Finally the dude blurted out something about links between Saddam and al qaeda.
Mission Accomplished! Not only was saddam thumbing his nose at us, but he was collaborating with al qaeda!
Cost of Torture, expressed mathematically:
Torture + Voting for Bush + Immorality = 1 trillion taxpayer dollars, 30,000 dead and wounded americans, hundreds of thousands of dead iraqis.
