APP - The difference between Conservatives and Liberals

StoneByStone

It's OK to Be White
I can't say I agree with everything here, but overall a very accurate explanation of the difference between the conservative mindset and the liberal mindset.

"We know that people can maintain an unshakable faith in any proposition, however absurd, when they are sustained by a community of like-minded believers." Daniel Kahneman

The video is a wonderful example of fiction or imaginative baloney for no one fits these simple slots. They are made up. Of course if you believe the fiction, you'll find it, for like advertising it is repeated constantly and you come to follow and believe and even see it. It's real you say. See see, like seals they find it everywhere. Say 'socialism' and like some medieval monk faced with a pagan idol you turn white from fright. Too funny how Americans have become trained seals.

But but there must be a reality somewhere surely? I see American conservatives (AC) today as closer to libertarianism than conservatism as defined by say Russell Kirk or firing line's William F. Buckley Jr. American conservationism today is a creation of privilege, dark money, and invisible hands, books I'll link below. Read if you want to know.

"The trick never ages; the illusion never wears off. Vote to stop abortion; receive a rollback in capital gains taxes. Vote to make our country strong again; receive deindustrialization. Vote to screw those politically correct college professors; receive electricity deregulation. Vote to get government off our backs; receive conglomeration and monopoly everywhere from media to meatpacking. Vote to stand tall against terrorists; receive Social Security privatization. Vote to strike a blow against elitism; receive a social order in which wealth is more concentrated than ever before in our lifetimes, in which workers have been stripped of power and CEOs are rewarded in a manner beyond imagining." I am no sitting through your YouTube clip

The difference is really simple. REAL conservatives believe in freedom. Liberals and RINOS do not

The video is a wonderful example of fiction or imaginative baloney for no one fits these simple slots.

The video was an attempt at summing up the overall difference in how Liberals and Conservatives see society and positive progress. Maybe the slots aren't entirely accurate, but it is true that Liberals generally prefer a more equal society, within reason, and Conservatives prefer a more hierarchical society in which people are the bottom are assumed to deserve being there.

Talk about simplistic talking points

Liberal beliefs lead to resentments. Here is how. Leftists preach to people that their policies will result in the impossible which is making people “more equal”. Have you exp, wined to them what “within reason” means? Does it mean you believe they can only be partly equal?

The reason it is bogus is because you can’t deliver what you promise which eventually leads to resentments which eventually leads to conflict and violence. Oh “equality” sounds good but it is an impossibility

Everyone should have equality of opportunity under the law, not equality of outcome. It is childish in the extreme to think that we can all be equal.

I believe, as do most Leftists, that we can and should reduce the enormous gap between rich and poor. This doesn't mean having no gap. It means that the people at the top are rich, and the people at the bottom are living a comfortable life.

If it's possible in other industrialized countries around the world, why is it not possible to deliver on this promise in America?
And of course real equality is impossible. We're talking about reducing economic inequality, not trying to force everyone to be equal.

Everyone should have equality of opportunity under the law, not equality of outcome. It is childish in the extreme to think that we can all be equal.

Equality of opportunity is a fantasy.

Except leftists ideas only seek to tear down one group they never try to lift up the other.

Leftists are destructive

There is some truth to your comment as Russell Kirk a leading conservative wrote, but the issue has been transformed today by conservative dark money sites and educational support. Today the differences are largely cultural rather than hierarchical. The greatest irony is the person or family at the bottom, using your word, vote republican and claim to be conservative. Interviews during Trump rallies often displayed a lack of knowledge that was astounding. For the interested reader on how this happened check out the book below.

Below is an accurate assessment of so called conservatism in America today.
