The discovery of new moralities

FUCK THE POLICE

911 EVERY DAY
I love how Christians discover new moralities to impose on us from time to time. From time immemorial, English common law held that abortion was allowed up to the point of quickening - about 20 weeks in. We now have roughly same the abortion laws as existed in every single state had at the time of the founders - Roe vs. Wade was the ultimate exercise in originalism by that standard. Then in the early 19th century suddenly we discovered a new way to commit murder, that no one had even thought of before, and we absolutely have to impose this on everyone and enslave women to do so. Never mind that life from the point of conception is totally contradictory to the uncontroversial concept of brain death - both a zygote and a braindead person are equally "alive" in a literal sense.

And Christians act like Jesus proscribed this from the beginning of time, and it's the most central thing in the world to their entire faith suddenly. Because that's the most central conceit that Christians operate under, they have to pretend like their beliefs are totally unchanging since the time of Jesus and have never once been modified. Except they obviously have, because we have records, and we know they suddenly invented this bullshit in the early 19th century, and for 1800 years of Christianity no one had ever had a problem with abortion before.

minds change

the main FACT is they have no RIGHT to force their religious beliefs on others.

FORCING a person to carry a fetus they don't want to bare is EVIL

It's not forcing them to carry anything. It's expecting someone that made a choice that produce the result to take responsibility for THAT choice.

If the woman chooses to have the child, forcing the rest of us to support it when she can't is EVIL.
