Keep in mind that a recent study found cosmic ray flux correlated better than CO2 and they didn't even set out to study CRF.

Could cosmic rays be another part of the formula?
The growth rate relationship to temp is not linear. It's really not a huge leap to expect that trees would respond to differing levels of cosmic rays. I look foward to future studies which might explore the relationship.
