The Times found that while Trump’s attorney general Bill Barr and Durham were in Europe looking for evidence to discredit the Russia investigation, Italian officials gave them a “potentially explosive tip” linking Trump to “certain suspected financial crimes.” Rather than assign a new prosecutor to look into those suspected crimes, Barr folded the matter into Durham’s inquiry, giving Durham criminal prosecution powers for the first time.

There is no fiasco....none of the corrupt have been or will be held to account.....situation normal.
 
NYC is renewing the charges of payoffs Trump made to silence McDougal and Stormy. We all know who person #1 is. Barr's Justice department halted the NY investigation in its tracks. They even took a shot at wiping Cohen's charges away. so the connection to Trump would disappear. I see no way Trumnp escapes this.Cohen got 3 years and he acted on behalf of Trump and at his orders.

Thank goodness Speaker Kevin McCarthy has created a House subcommittee on the weaponization of the federal government!

Last week, The New York Times reported on an outrageous example of such weaponization, the flagrant use of federal law enforcement powers to target an administration’s political enemies. I’m talking, of course, about the John Durham special counsel investigation, which was meant to root out the ostensibly corrupt origins of Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, and quickly came to embody the sins that Donald Trump and his allies projected onto the F.B.I.

More specifically, he used dubious Russian intelligence memos, which analysts believed were seeded with falsehoods, to try to convince a court to give him access to the emails of a former aide to George Soros, which he believed would show Clinton-related wrongdoing."

I keep saying this - but this is one of the most stark demonstrations of our unequal justice system.

The entities involved were Cohen, David Pecker, Some other Publisher, and twump, and the twump organization.

Cohen went to jail. Pecker and the other publisher asshole got immunity, twump and the twump organization were not even charged.

Who went to jail? Not the millionaires.

Unfortunately you are correct and I agree. This is why I keep saying AG Garland needs to be fired.

The whimp involved in this one was a NY Prosecutor. A couple of his staff resigned because of it. The new AG may be much more brave. She's already nailed the twump organization and the former CFO.
