There was not a single Democrat who voted for Johnson, so it was the Republicans Congresspeople, and the Republican voters who voted for those Congresspeople who allowed Johnson to become Speaker.

I would not accuse you of "allowing" Biden to become President, because I am relatively sure you voted for trump.

And if you had only voted for Clinton, then she would have run for reelection in 2020, instead of Biden running.

We elected Democrats to Congress so they would vote for Democratic leadership. The same is true about Republicans. If either did differently, they would be breaking one of the most basic covenants of being in a political party.

Wally, I hope I opened your eyes to the strategic blunder the dems made is allowing Johnson to become speaker. I have tried to explain to a half dozen of your like-minded fellow lemmings but to no avail, so if you join into a thread, remind them how they f'ed up and wound up with Johnson instead of keeping that dishrag McCarthy who was someone that they could manipulate like obama still does to brandon.

I'm not the left - but I'm fine w/ Christianity. Just keep it out of gov't.

We see the hypocrisy of it w/ the new speaker. Has spoken about outlawing abortion & homosexuality - but when it comes to Santos, it all has to "play out" even though that guy is a proven liar.

The Democrats had no say in it. Republicans are in the majority, so they pick the Speaker. If Democrats picked the Speaker, it would be Jeffries.

I can warn you against nominating trump, but I have no say about it. You can warn me against nominating Biden, but you have no say about it. Democrats have no say as to who the Republicans pick as Speaker.

Imagine if a Republican Speaker won with Democratic votes... Republicans hate supposed "RINOs", even threatening to kill them. They would all vote against such a Speaker, and we would be back where we started.

More importantly, the only reason parties vote for other parties is when they form coalitions. Republicans were offering literally nothing.
