The polarized factions in America have not been debating different means to a common goal for the past few decades.


We clearly have different goals now, which precludes there being any value to debate.


When each side clearly wants a totally different kind of country from the other, all that remains is to admit to ourselves that we have no interest in consensus.


Long term, the only possible alternative to partition is total anarchy.
Let's grow a pair and recognize what the actual choices are and what pipedreams are no longer possible.
 
I don't know why Big Money Dolla bothers responding to my posts.
I can't see his post, obviously, and I can't imagine ANYBODY ELSE wanting to see it either.


On that subject, PoliTalker can't see my posts as it turns out.

Too bad, because he/she/it's very anti-partition and would contribute a really stupid argument against it.
Maybe we'll get Oom, the Stars and Bars bandana guy, to give us a stupid argument instead.

We're all Brothers and Sisters. Majority Rules. The Normal People have the House, Senate, and Presidency, ... let's see what we can do with it.

Even if we can do something with it, it doesn't change the fact that no matter which faction has government control,
one-half of this nation is always going to hate the government because they want something completely different.

I don't agree, by the way, that we're all brothers and sisters.
If it's a small majority ruling, that means a large minority is pissed off and looking to start trouble.
We can't live that way forever,
and I don't understand why we'd want to.

Nations have partitioned from the beginning of time.
Nobody anointed America to be everlasting, and I see our run as winding down.
 
America should probably break up into (at least) three separate nations.

Each individual could decide in which nation he/she would like to live.

As I see it, the west coast could form a nation; the north east could form a nation; and the rest of the country could form a nation.

Too bad it has to be this way...but, essentially, it is what it is.
 
If the nation divides can we have sub divisions within the new nations? Anyone here from California knows there has long been talk that California should be divided between the Northern and Southern parts of the state (the irony here is the two areas generally share the same politics, but are just very different nonetheless).

I would see no reason why not, you could even go further and divide up your hometown, sure no one would be too anxious to adopt the Tenderloin

And not a word on USC, UCLA, or the PAC 12’s success in the NCAAs, your not holding back cause of the Bruins continued success are you?

Ultimate conundrum, I root (hard) for the PAC 12 while hating UCLA. There are many Trojan fans who believe you should never, under any circumstances, root for UCLA. Then there are those who bite their tongue and root for them for conference pride.

I am very disappointed we did not put up a better fight against Gonzaga but I didn't have expectations of beating them. I was thrilled with our Elite 8 run.

Disinformation is causing this


When people are lied to long enough their brains get scrambled


It started with corporate money wanting to avoid taxes and regulation

Some of the wealthy fucks started PAYING to get people confused about their own best interests by purveyors of lies


Buying politicians

Buying air time and exulting assholes like Lush Limpballs

Buying reporters


Then those bought politicians had to figure out a way to keep getting re-elected


So they kept the right voters from voting

Black voters were a great target


They very rarely voted for Republican after the southern strategy


Racism kept them in certain districts and the racist locals were more than happy to keep their black populations from voting


LAWS AND REGULATIONS ARE ALL WE NEED TO FIX THIS


stop trying to pretend this isn’t fixable

Piggy backing on your comment about the Tenderloin, I don't know how familiar you are with LA, but they attempted that awhile back. The San Fernando Valley (the "Valley"), parts of which are in the City of L.A., attempted to break off from L.A. Of course that was met with howls because the Valley is a much whiter and wealthier part of L.A. So you can imagine the optics of them leaving the rest of the very diverse and not so affluent portions of LA without their tax dollar help. Ultimately it didn't happen.

What do you consider defeat?

Is a divorce defeat to you?

Was our separation from Great Britain a defeat?

Not only do I not consider the kind of thing I suggested a defeat...it would, in my opinion, be an intelligent, civilized move...of value to every American and to everyone else in the world.
